Class 2 Drivers

Class 2 Drivers – Workwear Solutions: West Brom and Midlands areas Salary £35,000 – £38,000 pa 40/45hr week + Bonus, 20 days hols + BH’s rising to 25 in service Pension.

The Role

Your role as Class 2 Driver will involve people interaction and liaison, ensuring that you have collected and delivered all the work correctly and on time, data handling in terms of accurately recording information of customer deliveries and uploading it to the WMS

• To comply with the road transport legislation.
• To be the company’s “Service Ambassador” with our customers.
• To deliver and collect work to and from the branch and our customers.
• Accurately record customer delivery and collection via PDA device or route manifest.
• To ensure the security and safety of any vehicle or property or customer property.
• To ensure the safety of any third party, whilst you are in control of an vehicle.
• Comply to any reasonable operating conditions existing on customers’ premises.
• To know and understand the scheduled delivery routes that you have been allocated.
• To load and unload cages from vehicles with both clean and used linen.
• To wear the correct and clean uniform as appropriate.
• To ensure that all contact with customers is honest, polite and helpful at all times.
• To execute daily and weekly vehicle checks and cleaning routines.
• To record and report customer queries using the current and correct documentation.
• Undertake other duties when instructed by the Transport/Ops leadership team.
• To comply with driving performance systems.
• Attend daily driver debrief sessions and update on any customer developments.

Your Skills and Abilities:

• Up to date Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC).
• No more than 6 points on driving licence. Class 2 license required.
• Highly customer-focused and good attention to detail.
• Excellent organisational skills and ability to make decisions and problem solve.
• Flexible and able to react quickly to the needs of the customer.
• PC literacy for emails, spreadsheets and datsbases.
• Well spoken; clarity of speech, friendliness of tone, articulate.
• Patient, polite and courteous

Qualifications / Experience:

• Understanding of current commercial transport legislation.
• Experience of working in a professional logistics department.
• Digital tachograph and Class 2 driving license required
