Our client is seeking Maintenance Supervisor Engineers (Mechanical & Electrical) to join them and their leadership team at their plant in Dudley. There, you continue to drive the progression of the Maintenance division and help achieve its goals.
Day-to-day, you will help ensure the site is mechanically and electrically in check, that team performance is maximised, that PPM routines minimise downtime, and that advancements and savings are achieved. Working with the support of the Operations Director and wider Maintenance Management Team you will ensure the day-to-day site production runs with minimal interruption to maximum potential. You will continue to drive standards, help improve systems and performance, ensure compliance with health and safety and regulatory standards are met and help ensure the maintenance division is considered a positive place to work, proud of its achievements and is still striving for more advancements.
A further breakdown of Key Role Responsibilities would show:
Monitor line performance; prioritise maintenance response and record findings, CMMS
Ensure maintenance and operational ownership from handover to handover
Allocate engineers to planned and reactive tasks at shift start
Manage shift attendance; escalate absences to TEM immediately
Enforce PTW compliance for all shift activities
Coordinate with incoming Lead Engineer during handover overlap
Lead RCA for all repeat and high-impact failures, record such scenarios within 24hrs.
Apply 5-Why / Fishbone methodology as standard investigation tool
Track corrective actions to closure; share learnings across shifts
Conduct daily toolbox talk at shift start — maximum 10 minutes
Cover safety topics, PPM priorities, near misses and RCA learnings
Record attendance and topics in toolbox talk log e
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
- Engineering qualification (HNC/HND min. — Mechanical or Electrical)
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in food manufacturing.
- Proven leadership and shift management capability
- CMMS competency: work order management and reporting
- Strong fault-finding and RCA skills (5-Why, Fishbone)
- Food manufacturing environment experience preferred
- PTW knowledge and H&S compliance awareness
- LEAN / continuous improvement mindset
- MS Office and CMMS system literacy
- Planning and organising skills
Work Pattern:-
Week 1: 21:00 to 06:00 / Week 2: 13:00 to 22:00 / Week 3: 05:00 to 14:00 – Mon to Fri
