As a Technical Support Engineer, you will be the primary technical authority for a cutting-edge range of renewable heating and cooling convectors. You won’t just be answering questions; you will be an architect of solutions—assisting designers, contractors, and engineers to apply, install, and troubleshoot innovative heat pump technologies that are revolutionising the residential and commercial markets.
Role responsibilities and focus
This is a multi-faceted engineering role that blends system design, order precision, and high-level troubleshooting. You will work in close partnership with the Technical & Training Manager to ensure every project is engineered for maximum efficiency.
Design & Pre-Sales Engineering
- Technical Drafting: Prepare, amend, and manage technical drawings and CAD libraries (BricsCAD) to meet precise consultant specifications.
- System Design: Provide expert input during the pre-sales stage, ensuring accurate product selection and system configuration for renewable energy projects.
- Submittals: Generate and collate comprehensive technical submittals for client and consultant approval.
Order Precision & SAP Integration
- Configuration: Process and configure complex customer orders within SAP, ensuring every unit is sized and specified correctly before release.
- Quality Control: Coordinate technical order checks to resolve any discrepancies, ensuring a “right-first-time” delivery for the client.
Expert Troubleshooting & Post-Sales Support
- First-Line Expertise: Act as the “go-to” technical voice for installers and contractors, diagnosing complex issues regarding wiring, controls, and hydronics.
- Field Problem Solving: Provide clear guidance to resolve performance faults and, where necessary, support post-order site surveys and commissioning queries.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify recurring design challenges and provide feedback to the management team to influence future product development.
The Package
- Salary: £38,000 to £40,000 per annum.
- Security: 8% Employer Pension contribution, Life Insurance (2x salary), and a permanent contract.

Your Profile: Technical Expertise & Precision
We are looking for a technically-minded professional with a deep-rooted understanding of how HVAC systems function in the real world.
- Qualifications: Essential formal qualifications in the HVAC sector.
- Hydronics Mastery: Hands-on experience in hydronic system design, installation, and commissioning.
- CAD Literacy: Proficient in producing and amending CAD drawings (BricsCAD or AutoCAD).
- Controls Knowledge: A strong aptitude for technical fault-finding and an understanding of control strategies, wiring, and Building Management Systems (BMS).
- Renewable Mindset: Knowledge of renewable energy products, specifically heat pump technology, is highly desirable.
- Communication: The ability to translate complex engineering data into clear, actionable advice for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
